Have a gold star amp and bose 901 speakers, nd whn i use the stereo for more thn 1 hour it srts makin static?

nd after i turn it off it still does. also even whn i turn the volume up or down it makes a breif static noise. could it be b/c i have too small of gauge wire??

The electrical contacts inside the potentiometer of the volume control knob are dirty/corroded. Sometimes you can get it to go away by spraying contact cleaner inside the potentiometer and swishing the volume knob around a bit. If it doesn't work the only alternative is replacing the potentiometer
Reply:No, that Goldstar unit doesn't create enough power to worry about wire gage. It sounds to me like the Goldstar's power supply is failing. You either need to take it in and get it serviced, or better yet throw it out and get something better.
